Leave Range Anxiety Behind - the I.D. CROZZ is Coming!
California is the headquarters of the next automotive revolution – electrification.
The recent Los Angeles Auto Show saw Volkswagen presenting the I.D. CROZZ concept. This electric vehicle is a crossover made for daily driving while meeting your wants and needs for a plug-in vehicle.
Powering the I.D.CROZZ is a combination of an 83-kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a pair of electric motors, one on each axle. The front motor generates 101 horsepower and the rear 201 hp, for a combined system output of 302 hp. This concept vehicle will offer an anticipated range of up to 300 miles. The 4MOTION system drives the rear wheels, first, ten allows the front wheels to engage when traction is deemed necessary.
All Volkswagen I.D. vehicles will be designed to speed recharging time over today’s models, and the CROZZ recovers 80 percent of its charge in 30 minutes via a 150 kWh DC charger, also known as a “level 3 fast charger.”
As with the other Volkswagen I.D. concept vehicles, the I.D. CROZZ features the I.D. Pilot self-driving system, set for availability in 2025.
Aside from this technology, the overall design is striking with new innovations - such as the slim headlamps and elements of the “open design” cabin may appear on production versions of the I.D. lineup.
This is a future Volkswagen believes its customers will embrace. If you want to drive the future today, come to Volkswagen Van Nuys and take the e-Golf for a test drive, we think you will find that not does it have all the fun and practicality of a gasoline powered Golf, it's pure electric power is a great preview of things to come!
